Our Products

Our switches break out into seven main categories:

Load Break Switches are capable of opening and closing with a load (i.e. when a machine is running) as opposed to isolator switches which simply turn off the electricity supply in no-load conditions.

Safety Switches are Load Break switches contained with an enclosure i.e. a complete unit that can be connected and mounted in the workplace. We provide enclosures in a range of different materials: ABS, Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminium and Polycarbonate.

Switch Fuses are load-break switches with a fuse built-in the switch itself. This not only saves space but means you don't need to put in separate cable runs (unless of course you already have them in place). This can also be safer if you need to replace the fuse for a given machine as you will be able to turn off the current to the fuse with the switch itself.

Enclosed switch fuses are the same as switch fuses (see above) but within a steel enclosure i.e. a complete unit that can be connected and mounted in the workplace.

Changeover Switches are used when you wish to switch from mains electricity to an alternate power supply such as a generator. The crucial aspect of a changeover switch is ensuring you cannot connect both a generator and the mains at the same time, and so short circuit the system. Katko's switches have a central OFF position to make sure this does not happen.

Katko also produces a range of Special switches for particular applications such as: DC/AC switches for photovoltaic applications; ATEX switches for hazardous areas; EMC switches for situations where there is a lot of electronic interference; and Fireman switches for the emergency services.

We have a range of Control products that help connect up the switches with the electricity supply such as terminal blocks, cable connectors and cable glands.
