Enclosed switch fuses

Our Enclosed Switch Fuse range covers 20A to 630A in both 3 pole and neutral, and 4 pole versions.

Each is provided within an IP65 steel enclosure. (IP enclosure rating explanation.) There is also a choice between BS fused and DIN fused versions.

Every unit comes complete with fuses and fuse and terminal shrouds for both incoming and outgoing cables.

Inside each enclosure are our Switch Fuses which break 8 x the AC23 rating and have been tested and certified for compliance with the relative standards by independent, authorised testing authorities.

Katko also supplies auxilliary contacts with a test position, ensuring that the auxilliary wiring (such as control signalling) can be checked before the main switch is operated.

Handles

Katko developed and tested a unique safety mechanism which we include on every switch: a tamper-proof interlock system.

The handles for all our switches accept three padlocks and interlock either the door or cover in both the ON position and PADLOCKED OFF position.

The majority of switch manufacturers allow a switch to be padlocked off so it cannot be turned, but this does not interlock the door or cover. So even when padlocked, it is possible to gain access to the switch with a simple screwdriver.

The Katko system makes that sort of access impossible and includes instead a special manual override facility so only an authorised person can gain access, for example in an emergency.
