Katko have designed and developed their products over many years to make the installation of their switches as quick, easy and safe as possible.
We understand that switches must often be installed in confined spaces and in different locations and environments. They are therefore available in ABS, Polycarbonate, Steel, Aluminium and Stainless Steel to suit all applications and environments.
When you fit small switches the wiring space is normally very limited and therefore we have designed the switch to be snapped out of the housing for wiring and then once completed, to be snapped back in.
The auxilliary contacts can be retrofitted by snapping onto the top of the switch without disturbing the mains wiring.

Katko's products may not be the cheapest, but our aim is to produce the most competitive installed product. If 10 minutes installation time is saved per switch, just how much is this worth to you ?

Katko's switches are SAFETY SWITCHES, not isolator switches or maintenance switches. This means that the switch inside the enclosure is a load break switch rated to break 8 times the AC23 current rating. Hence a switch rated at 25A AC23 will break 200A.
The operating handle will accept 3 padlocks and is door/cover interlocked in both the ON position and PADLOCKED OFF position.
Katko believe that if a switch is padlocked off then the person who fitted the padlock does not want the switch to be turned on or tampered with. However most of the other switches on the market, even when padlocked off, allow the door to be opened or the cover unscrewed and removed. This puts lives at risk.
