Katko UK was set up just over a decade ago by Kevin McCarthy who has a life time's experience in the electrical industry at all levels.

Filling a gap in the market for industry-leading safety and installation features on switches, sales of Katko products in the UK have increased year on year with customers being impressed by their design, reliability and price.

As business has grown, Katko has moved to larger premises twice, the last time to a new business park in Blacknest, Hampshire. The business also provides related push-button products through its sister company E-UK Controls Ltd.

Katko UK is an arm of the larger Katko Oy company, based in Finland, where most of the products are also developed, tested and built.

Katko Oy was founded in 1938, originally a car-engine repair business that started manufacturing electrical switches after the Second World War. It is renowned for being the company that first developed the modern-day switch fuse - and Katko's switch fuses continue to be celebrated to this day for their build-quality and frequent innovations.

Both Katko Oy and Katko UK share a philosophy of investment in product and production development, and staying at the cutting-edge of the switch market.
